Mapping Out Your Visit to the Magic Kingdom

With over 20 million visitors per year, The Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World is the most visited theme park in the world. Needless to say, a visit to Disney’s Magic Kingdom is exciting, but it can also be a little overwhelming—even if it’s not your first visit.

The Magic Kingdom is a huge park, comprising six different lands. It can take several days to see and do everything. Depending on the age and preferences of your kids and their interests, there are lands you will want to devote more time to, and some you may want to visit only briefly.

To get the most out of your time, you’ll want to familiarize yourself with the park before you go. A Disney World Magic Kingdom map is a fantastic tool for doing just that. Easy to read and packed with information, a Magic Kingdom map will help you visualize the layout of the park, showing you where to find the many rides, shops, restaurants, characters, and shows on your must-see list. Just a short time spent looking over the map can help you plan an itinerary that will minimize your walking, cut down your wait times, and most importantly, make sure you maximize your time in the park so you won’t miss any of your favorite attractions.

The Six Magic Kingdom Lands

There are six different "lands" within The Magic Kingdom: Main Street USA, Adventureland, Liberty Square, Frontierland, Fantasyland, and Tomorrowland. Each land has its own theme and offers a unique vibe and experience. They all offer the trademark Disney design and architecture along with excellent attractions and rides, great shows and entertainment, plenty of shopping and themed dining, and numerous chances to meet the iconic Disney characters.

Main Street USA - The entrance to Magic Kingdom leads you directly into Main Street USA, home to some of the most classic Disney experiences. Here, you can stroll through the streets of a turn-of-the-century town and window shop at the many boutiques, cafes, and restaurants. “Locals,” dressed in period costumes add to the atmosphere, as do live bands and entertainers who seem to pop up on every corner. You'll also catch a glimpse of Cinderella's Castle at the end of the street. Top attractions in Main Street USA include:

  • The Magic Kingdom Park Welcome Show: This daily celebration, featuring song and dance, takes place just before the park’s opening at the Walt Disney Train Station.
  • Mickey's Royal Friendship Faire: A fan favorite, this live stage show inspired by Disney movies is held daily in front of Cinderella’s Castle.
  • The Main Street Philharmonic: This brass and percussion marching band keeps Main Street lively with its energetic renditions of classic Americana music.
  • Casey's Corner Pianist: At this popular hot dog spot, a selection of great ragtime tunes plays keeps guests entertained.
  • The Dapper Dans: This quintessential barber-shop quartet always attracts a crowd with their vaudeville-type show, featuring classic music and silly jokes.

  • A Pirate's Adventure–Treasure of the Seven Seas: Grab a pirate's map and join Captain Jack Sparrow and his crew on this interactive hunt for pirate’s treasure. You'll have to battle Blackbeard, evade capture, and uncover clues as you search for the five secret treasures of the sea.
  • Jungle Cruise: Board a 1930's steam boat and set off on a fantastic adventure, exploring the major rivers of Asia, Africa, and South America. As your cruise captain navigates the various dangers of the jungle, keep an eye out for hippos, lions, and monkeys along the banks.
  • The Magic Carpets of Aladdin: Hop on a magic carpet and take off on an enchanting ride, dipping and soaring around a huge genie bottle. Pull back on the handle to control your carpet.

Frontierland - Head into the Wild West in Frontierland, home to two of the park’s most iconic attractions: Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and Splash Mountain.
